Barely one year into their career, NewJeans is already one of the best-selling female artists in Hanteo history!
Last week, NewJeans made their highly-anticipated comeback with their new mini album “Get Up” on July 21—and by the end of the day, the mini album had already soared past 1.1 million sales, making it the group’s first album ever to sell over a million copies within its first week.
Hanteo Chart has now reported that “Get Up” went on to sell an impressive total of 1,650,181 copies in the first week of its release (July 21 to 28), more than doubling NewJeans’ previous first-week sales record of 701,241 (set by their single album “OMG” earlier this year).
With this achievement, NewJeans has become the female artist with the second-highest first-week sales in Hanteo history, bested only by aespa. The only girl group album to sell more copies than “Get Up” in the first week of its release is aespa’s “MY WORLD.”
Congratulations to NewJeans on their new personal record!
