tvN’s “The Uncanny Counter 2” has shared a sneak peek of the new counter Yoo In Soo!
Based on the hit webtoon of the same name, “The Uncanny Counter” is a superhero drama starring Jo Byeong Gyu, Kim Sejeong, Yoo Joon Sang, and Yeom Hye Ran as demon hunters with supernatural powers. Two and a half years after the first season’s successful run, the drama is returning with its long-awaited second season with new counter Na Jeok Bong (Yoo In Soo) joining the squad.
In the previous episode of “The Uncanny Counter 2,” the Counters welcomed naive farmer Na Jeok Bong as their brand-new member. Na Jeok Bong was a simple and sophisticated country boy who fell into a coma after trying to save a woman from being hit by a truck. Upon witnessing this, Ga Mo Tak (Yoo Joon Sang) recommended Na Jeok Bong as a new counter as he saw a noble self-sacrificing attitude from him and his good-hearted nature as a devoted son. Full of determination, Na Jeok Bong then started his new life as a counter, eager to become a hero.
However, the newly released stills capture Na Jeok Bong’s rough training journey as he appears to have been knocked out during the process. As these are the same Counters that trained the then-newcomer So Moon (Jo Byeong Gyu) to become the phenomenal counter he is today, viewers are curious to see how the Counters will help Na Jeok Bong in reaching his full potential this time around.
In particular, more stills show So Moon, Do Ha Na (Kim Sejeong), Ga Mo Tak (Yoo Joon Sang), and Choo Mae Ok (Yeom Hye Ran) sporting new outfits at a new base camp. As if to herald the upgrade of the Counters, the squad replaces their trademark red tracksuits with new black ones.
The production team further shared, “After knowing that the evil spirits have absorbed (the Chinese) Counters’ supernatural abilities and became more vicious and stronger, the Counters began devising new strategies to face them. Additionally, after Pil Gwang (Kang Ki Young) discovers their base camp, the Counters leave their noodle shop and move to a new base camp.” Finally, the production team teased, “But more than anything, please look forward to the growth of Na Jeok Bong, whose abilities will be explored through the Counters’ hellish special training.”
The next episode of “The Uncanny Counter 2: Counter Punch” will air on August 5 at 9:20 p.m. KST.
