BLACKPINK‘s Lisa was featured in W Korea‘s August 2023 edition, displaying her charisma, gorgeous visuals, and charm in her photoshoot, in which she modeled CELINE designs as the brand’s global ambassador.
Along with her photoshoot, Lisa sat down with the fashion magazine for an exclusive interview. During the interview, she opened up about the turning point in her life, BLACKPINK’s historic headlining performance at Coachella 2023, and her ambassadorship with CELINE.
Lisa was officially named a global ambassador for CELINE in 2020 and has solidified her “queen of CELINE” nickname through her effortless embodiment of the brand’s style and image.
During her interview, Lisa told a story from her pre-debut days that proved she was born to be CELINE’s global ambassador.
When asked what the first CELINE item was that she had bought, Lisa recalled buying a black belt bag in her late teens.
Lisa revealed she had gone shopping before her debut to splurge on her first designer handbag, knowing that it would be something she could carry for a long time.
It was a black belt bag, and I must have bought it around late teens because it was before my debut. I was thinking about what to buy for my first designer bag, and I wanted to buy something that I can carry for the rest of my life without considering the budget.

Thanks to a suggestion from her fashion-loving cousin, Lisa decided to check out CELINE’s handbags and ultimately purchased their black belt bag as her first designer purse.
She fatefully described the experience as “love at first sight.”
Then, my cousin, who loves fashion, recommended me CELINE. So, I checked out CELINE’s bags and I immediately fell in love at first sight.

Years later, Lisa would become a muse for CELINE’s creative director Hedi Slimane and a global ambassador for the luxury brand, representing them in global campaigns and at fashion’s biggest events, seeming to prove her partnership with the brand was meant to be.
